MY BOOK BLOG ON 'THE WORLD ACCORDING TO HUMPHREY' BY BETTY G. BIRNEY

The world according to Humphrey is about a hamster named Humphrey, who has an unsqeakably exciting job as a classroom hamster. He also gets to visit his classmates on the weekends. Humphrey also helps his classmates solve their problems and even the teachers, so I guess you can call him a hero hamster. He is a very loving hamster.

My favourite character in the book is the main character 'Humphrey' because he maybe small but awfully mighty. It’s like the saying big things come in small packages. Even though no - one understands him, though he knows what they are saying. It is like a comic book; Humphrey is the hero like Spiderman or Batman, etc.

My favourite quote from this book would have to be 'on the last day of school, everybody was very dressed up. I had on my fur coat as usual'. I thought it was quite funny because he is a hamster and they have fur; thick, silky, short, honey coloured fur 'coat'.

MY BOOK BLOG ON 'COOKIE' BY JACQUELINE WILSON

Despite her name Beauty Cookson is no beauty, that's what she thinks. She is a plain, timid girl, who is called ugly by the girls in her school, especially by this girl called Skye. The biggest bully of all is her father who always criticizes her lack of  beauty, confidence and friends. Even though she lives in a large house and attends a private school. She loves rabbits, but here father forbids her to have pets. Her favourite TV programme is a TV show for young children, about a man and his rabbit.

Beauty and her mum live in fear of her dad's fierce rages; when they break one of their dad's fussy house rules or suggest something “silly” like getting a pet. Beauty's mum adores her and tries her best to keep her happy despite all the shouting and tension.

After beauty's birthday party, her dad's temper seems to be out of control. Are mum and beauty brave enough to leave and start a better new life?

Who is your favourite character in this book? Why?
My favourite character in this book was is Beauty (Cookie) because even though she is a plain timid girl who is called ugly by her other girls in her school who are probably uglier than her she still doesn't mind and doesn't care.

What is your favourite quote in this book?
M y favourite quote in this book is 'I went to Lily's birthday party of course - along with a million other little kids, all singing happy birthday to you into our television sets'. This quote shows us how much of a fan Beauty (Cookie) is and shows us the crazy side of her, to be actually singing happy birthday to your TV. Weird right?

What would you give this book out of ?/5 star?
I would give this book 4/5 star because it is a lovely, page-turning story of a family life, friendship and cookies, from the best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson.
