Sylvie and Carl have been friends since they were tiny children. Sylvie never thought that things would change. And she never thought they change the way they did . . .
Sylvie and Carl always played together, ate with each other’s family and called each other Boyfriend and Girlfriend, Even though deep down Sylvie thought that she and Carl would end up getting married. They even have their own fantasy world that belongs to them alone and the glass hut where it all began, at the bottom of Carl's garden.
But as they become teenagers, things are starting to change. They each have different friends. Although, Sylvie prefers to spend all her time with Carl. But Carl has a new friend, named Paul. Who is taking all his attention! Carl is getting tired of being called Sylvie's boyfriend and in a game of spin the bottle avoids kissing her. Sylvie can tell his feelings for her have changed.
But can she guess at the true reasons behind it all? "At the heart of Kiss, is an emotional truthfulness, courage and comedy" The Times
I love Jacqueline Wilson Books and this is a beautiful and touching story about love, we all know life isn't what you expect it to be and we are all different as well as we are all similar.
Facts On Jacqueline Wilson
Jacqueline Wilson was born in Bath in 1945 and spent her childhood in Kingston-on-Thames, where she still lives today as a full-time writer. She was educated at Coombe Girls School, Surrey, relocating to Dundee to start work as a teenage journalist with D C Thomson, writing for Jackie teenage magazine, which was named after her.
Jacqueline Wilson has written readers and books for younger children as well as radio plays for the BBC. Her series of books for older readers, Girls in Love (1997), Girls Under Pressure (1998), Girls Out Late (1999), and Girls in Tears (2002) has recently been made into a thirteen-part television series, broadcast on ITV.
My favourite character was Miranda, she's a bouncy, confident full of herself girl. She’s not drop dead gorgeous but she has something enchanting about herself. She is one of Sylvie's closest friends and she also fancies Carl.
My favourite quote would have to be at the very end of the book 'He leaned his head forward and gently, softly, sweetly kissed me on the lips. It was the kiss I'd been hoping for but it was the next best thing.' this part was so sweet, I thought it was truly lovely.
I would most definitely rate this book 5/5 STARS! For it has a fascinating storyline with romance and growing-up.
I think you've used a great amount of detail and I like the way you've used quotations and facts about Jacqueline Wilson
