'THE CHOCOLATE BOX GIRLS: CHERRY CRUSH' BY CATHY CASSIDY

The Chocolate Box Girls Each sister has a different story to tell, which one will be your favourite? Cherry Costello's life is about change forever. She and her dad are moving to Somerset where a new mother and a bunch of new sisters await. On the first day at Somerset, Cherry meets the gorgeous Shay Fletcher. But Shay has a girlfriend; Cherry's new stepsister, Honey. Cherry knows her friendship with Shay is dangerous - it could ruin everything. But that doesn't mean she would stay away from him.

Who Was Your Favourite Character?

My favourite character was Cherry because she has a wonderful and active imagination which sometimes causes her to make up little white lies, which leads her to bigger lies. Though she doesn't have many friends she still remains positive. Now that her dad has met someone she will now have a proper family.

What Was Your Favourite Part Of The Book?

My favourite the part of the book would probably the ending, because after all she has been through she gets the boy of her dream, Shay, three lovely new sisters who accept her for who she is and they understood why she lied and they didn't judge her. Even though Honey, didn't really forgive her, they are kind of getting along. Lastly she now has a wonderful stepmother and a great dad.

What Rating Out Of Five (?/5) Would You Give This Book?

I would definitely give this book a 5/5. It is a really gripping novel about how one’s life can change in just moments. It also has romance and hilarity. :-)

MY BOOK BLOG ON 'THE WORLD ACCORDING TO HUMPHREY' BY BETTY G. BIRNEY

The world according to Humphrey is about a hamster named Humphrey, who has an unsqeakably exciting job as a classroom hamster. He also gets to visit his classmates on the weekends. Humphrey also helps his classmates solve their problems and even the teachers, so I guess you can call him a hero hamster. He is a very loving hamster.

My favourite character in the book is the main character 'Humphrey' because he maybe small but awfully mighty. It’s like the saying big things come in small packages. Even though no - one understands him, though he knows what they are saying. It is like a comic book; Humphrey is the hero like Spiderman or Batman, etc.

My favourite quote from this book would have to be 'on the last day of school, everybody was very dressed up. I had on my fur coat as usual'. I thought it was quite funny because he is a hamster and they have fur; thick, silky, short, honey coloured fur 'coat'.

Facts about Betty G. Birney
Betty G. Birney she wrote her first book at the age of seven, she attended school in Affton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louise. When Disney Channel started she became a writer and a story editor for 'welcome to pooh corner'. She has won a writers guild of America award and three humanities prizes (as well as two other nominations). When she was a teenager, Betty wanted to be an actress as well as a writer. She later changed her mind and ended up marrying an actor, frank Birney. She has two wonderful stepdaughters, Rebecca Frank and Anna Birney, who are both talented artist and graphic designers.

I would rate this book 4/5 star because it is a lovely book about friendship and experiences from an amazing author called Betty g. Birney.

MY BOOK BLOG ON 'COOKIE' BY JACQUELINE WILSON

Despite her name Beauty Cookson is no beauty, that's what she thinks. She is a plain, timid girl, who is called ugly by the girls in her school, especially by this girl called Skye. The biggest bully of all is her father who always criticizes her lack of  beauty, confidence and friends. Even though she lives in a large house and attends a private school. She loves rabbits, but here father forbids her to have pets. Her favourite TV programme is a TV show for young children, about a man and his rabbit.

Beauty and her mum live in fear of her dad's fierce rages; when they break one of their dad's fussy house rules or suggest something “silly” like getting a pet. Beauty's mum adores her and tries her best to keep her happy despite all the shouting and tension.

After beauty's birthday party, her dad's temper seems to be out of control. Are mum and beauty brave enough to leave and start a better new life?

Who is your favourite character in this book? Why?
My favourite character in this book was is Beauty (Cookie) because even though she is a plain timid girl who is called ugly by her other girls in her school who are probably uglier than her she still doesn't mind and doesn't care.

What is your favourite quote in this book?
M y favourite quote in this book is 'I went to Lily's birthday party of course - along with a million other little kids, all singing happy birthday to you into our television sets'. This quote shows us how much of a fan Beauty (Cookie) is and shows us the crazy side of her, to be actually singing happy birthday to your TV. Weird right?

What would you give this book out of ?/5 star?
I would give this book 4/5 star because it is a lovely, page-turning story of a family life, friendship and cookies, from the best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson.

KISS BY JACQUELINE WILSON

Sylvie and Carl have been friends since they were tiny children. Sylvie never thought that things would change. And she never thought they change the way they did . . .
Sylvie and Carl always played together, ate with each other’s family and called each other Boyfriend and Girlfriend, Even though deep down Sylvie thought that she and Carl would end up getting married. They even have their own fantasy world that belongs to them alone and the glass hut where it all began, at the bottom of Carl's garden.
But as they become teenagers, things are starting to change. They each have different friends. Although, Sylvie prefers to spend all her time with Carl. But Carl has a new friend, named Paul. Who is taking all his attention! Carl is getting tired of being called Sylvie's boyfriend and in a game of spin the bottle avoids kissing her. Sylvie can tell his feelings for her have changed.
But can she guess at the true reasons behind it all? "At the heart of Kiss, is an emotional truthfulness, courage and comedy" The Times

I love Jacqueline Wilson Books and this is a beautiful and touching story about love, we all know life isn't what you expect it to be and we are all different as well as we are all similar.

Facts On Jacqueline Wilson
Jacqueline Wilson was born in Bath in 1945 and spent her childhood in Kingston-on-Thames, where she still lives today as a full-time writer. She was educated at Coombe Girls School, Surrey, relocating to Dundee to start work as a teenage journalist with D C Thomson, writing for Jackie teenage magazine, which was named after her.
Jacqueline Wilson has written readers and books for younger children as well as radio plays for the BBC. Her series of books for older readers, Girls in Love (1997), Girls Under Pressure (1998), Girls Out Late (1999), and Girls in Tears (2002) has recently been made into a thirteen-part television series, broadcast on ITV.

My favourite character was Miranda, she's a bouncy, confident full of herself girl. She’s not drop dead gorgeous but she has something enchanting about herself. She is one of Sylvie's closest friends and she also fancies Carl.

My favourite quote would have to be at the very end of the book 'He leaned his head forward and gently, softly, sweetly kissed me on the lips. It was the kiss I'd been hoping for but it was the next best thing.' this part was so sweet, I thought it was truly lovely.

I would most definitely rate this book 5/5 STARS! For it has a fascinating storyline with romance and growing-up.
